INTRODUCING
AOIFE WARD
It’s been coming for a long time, but Paranoid Visions vocalist Aoife Destruction has finally made her own single. A member of the band for almost 15 years, this single shows a slight departure from the abrasive nature of her band.
Produced by Pete Holidai, of The Radiators / Trouble Pilgrims and written by bandmate P.A and the Lee Harveys’ frontman Bitzy, it sounds like Blondie doing a cover of a Ramones song with Buzzcocks’ Peter Shelley on guitar.
In the Blink of an Eye was briefly considered as a disruptive Eurovision entry, but dismissed when common sense prevailed.
INSPIRATION
FOR IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE
The B side features a cover of Ziggy Stardust sang as a duet with her father, Pat Ward... a singer who turned his back on possible fame and fortune in the 1960’s to concentrate on his family. Now 76 years young, the recording shows he still has the vocal strength and it’s not hard to see where Aoife inherits hers from!
